Katie Walter
In 2009, at age seventeen, Katie Walter, a farm girl from Nottinghamshire, England, was the youngest at the time to have made the one-hundred twelve mile expedition to the South Pole.
She used her journey to raise funds for an air ambulance as well as for Dyslexia in Action. Both charities are close to her heart what with living on a farm and knowing the air ambulance would be the quickest way to receive medical help in an emergency, and also because Walter struggles with dyslexia.
