Jordan Romero
When Jordan was in fourth grade, he saw a painting in school that showed the highest peaks on each continent. Being an avid outdoorsman all his life, having grown up in the wilderness of Big Bear, California, Jordan knew he wanted to climb each of those seven peaks.
At age ten, he traversed his first of the seven, Mt. Kilimanjaro, in Africa. On May 22, 2010, he became the youngest person to climb Mount Everest at just thirteen years old. At the age of fifteen Romero became the youngest climber in the world to complete the Seven Summits. Part of Jordan's success and happiness was due to his parents' discipline and boundaries. Jordan is spotlighted in Secrets of Safety-Net Parenting in chapter eight, "You Are Not Their Friend" Learn more about Jordan Romero and what he's up to. |
