About Leon Scott Baxter
Leon Scott Baxter, is known as "America's Relationship Guru" and has been called "The Dumbest Genius You Will Ever Meet". He's the author of four books and scores of articles. He's also a regular blogger for the parenting site, KidsInTheHouse.com. Feel free to take a look at some of his parenting pieces. Baxter has been an elementary school teacher since 1997, and is the father of two happy and successful daughters, Grace (12) and Riley (16).
Grace has won numerous local and national art contests since she was four. She is an animal and art lover. She's used her art of animals to raise funds for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. She's also been in contact with the French government offering help to stop the use of live pets as bait for large game fishing. Grace has raised thousands of dollars for her local Humane Society via the business she started in 2012, a toy she created that takes the place of a pet.
Riley has been pen pals with the late Dom DeLuise, been mentioned on Capitol Hill, has watched a Dodger's game with Jackie Robinson's daughter, has been a toy tester, an author, a model and actress. She started her first business in 2006 and the next year started a charity where she raised over $25,000 for pediatric cancer research. Now, she runs a popular beauty and DIY YouTube channel. She's using online presence to raise more funds for children's cancer.
When Baxter isn't parenting his girls, he loves to spend time with his wife of twenty-two years, play basketball, walk his dog, Lucy, as well as cut coupons for his weekly grocery store shopping excursion.
“If you want your children to turn out well, spend twice as much time with them, and half as much money.”
